This is a gorgeous plate made in the Japanese Chokin Art style, in the design of Mt Fiji. This plate has wonderful artwork in the center which is surrounded by a 24K gold ring. It also has two bands on the rim of 24K gold, one is wide and one is narrow. This plate is a fantastic display piece and would be a great an addition to your home decor.
Chokin art is the process of engraving copper. It was used in the 12th century to decorate armament of samurai warriors and temples. On top of the etched copper, it is gilded with precious 24K gold and silver.
Size: 6 inches in diameter.
This vintage plate is in excellent condition. There are no mars, cracks, chips, or crazing. There is some rubbing to the gold.
It would make an excellent wedding, holiday, housewarming, or special occasion gift. It would also be a great addition to your own home decor.
