Antique Wooden Crate, Royal Baking Powder, Wooden Box, Primitive
A wonderful antique wooden crate for Royal Baking Powder. It is wood and primitive in design. On the long side of the box is printed: "Royal Baking Powder, Warranted, Full Weight. Full Strength and on the short side is printed: Manufactured by Royal Baking Co, New York. This would be a great box for a variety of uses. Great to use as laundry room or kitchen decor. It can hold a wide variety of things a few suggestions are: wine bottles, water bottles, magazines, books, and so much more. A great addition to a man cave. It could be hung on the wall and used as a shadow box for vases, books, and collectibles.

Royal Baking Powder Co. was started by brothers Joseph Christoffel Hoagland and Cornelius Nevius Hoagland in 1866. It later came under the ownership of William Ziegler, and then his adopted son, William Ziegler Jr.
In 1929, the Royal Baking Powder Co., along with four other companies including the Fleischmann's Yeast Company, merged to form Standard Brands, the number-two brand of packaged foods in America after General Foods. Through a further merger, Standard Brands itself became part of Nabisco in 1981. As of 2017, Nabisco is a subsidiary of Mondelez International; Royal Baking Powder is still marketed today, currently by Hulman & Company.
This box is in good condition. It is a very old box and as such really shows its age which gives it lots of character. There are chips in the wood sides. This box is not dovetailed but straight nailed. It is discolored in places and the writing is faded and nonexistent on two sides.
