Traditional Christmas decorations, gift ideas, and recipes are offered in this book geared toward the crafts hobbyist. The first section sets a warm tone, with visits to eight diverse American homes linked by their exuberance for Christmas. The ideas here are artistic, and the quality of the decorations in these homes are spectacular. German glass tree ornaments, handmade cloth dolls, a wreath made of red peppers contrasts with other designs also provided in the book, such as a doorknob wreath, cross-stitch angel and pom-pom Santa. Many projects require basic sewing skills, and a jigsaw is needed to make the attractive wooden toys. The volume is generously illustrated with large full-color pictures, clear, full-size patterns and detailed instructions. In a short holiday-recipe chapter the offerings are desserts, appetizers, party foods, breads, sweets and easy meals for hectic days. A great book full of Christmas cheer and fun projects.

As New: The book is in the same immaculate condition as when it was published. This could be the description for a book that has been lost in a warehouse for years, never shelved, thumbed or even opened yet may still be some years old.

Fine: A Fine book approaches the condition of As New, but without being crisp. The book may have been opened and read, but there are no defects in the book, jacket or pages.

Very Good: Describes a book that shows some small signs of wear - but no tears - on either binding or paper. Any defects should be noted by the seller.
