Cookbook, A Treasury of Great Recipes, Mary and Vincent Price, Reference Book, Illustrated, Recipes, Collectible, First Edition

A wonderful hardcover cookbook called A Great Treasury Of Great Recipes by Mary and Vincent Price. This is a First Edition, First Printing. What Vincent Price fan wouldn’t love this? What gourmet cook wouldn’t love this? This is a book about enjoying food in restaurants around the world, it’s a book of photographs of restaurants from around the world, photographs of Vincent Price’s own ideas of designing a home for good eating and entertaining, and most of all it’s a cookbook filled with great recipes by the famous Vincent Price who was one of the best horror actors of all time.

It is perhaps the first celebrity cookbook published. Famed actor, Vincent Price and his wife, Mary, present mouthwatering recipes from around the world in simplified, unpretentious forms that anyone can make and enjoy. Selections are featured from London's The Ivy; Madrid's Palace Hotel; New York's Sardi's, and other legendary establishments. The recipes are accompanied by witty commentaries, color photos and feature atmospheric drawings by Fritz Kredel, making this cookbook one of the most beautiful books of its kind. Plus, it is bound with padded leatherette cover boards.

Vincent Leonard Price Jr. (1911 – 1993) was an American actor. He appeared on stage, television, and radio, and in more than 100 films. Price has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for motion pictures and one for television. Price was also an art collector and arts consultant with a degree in art history, lecturing and writing books on the subject. The Vincent Price Art Museum at East Los Angeles College is named in his honor. Price was also a noted gourmet cook.

This book is in Very Good condition. The binding is tight. The pages are all clean and bright. The covers show little shelf and corner wear, and are padded leatherette. The cover boards also have no staining. They do have rubbing along the edges from age. This book is 57 years old.

Would make a great gift idea for the person who loves to cook, loves Vincent Price, or better yet, loves both.
