A wonderful silver plate blunt solid knife by International Silver made for W. T. Achenbach. W. T. Achenbach was a jewelry store in Glens Falls, New York. This would be a great gift. A wonderful addition to a silver collection.
The knife is marked 12 DWT which is a sign of the amount of silver used for both sides of galvanic processing of 12 items of cutlery. 12 DWTS' is 12 x 1.55517384 grams Silver of .999 fineness.
The International Silver Company (1898–1983), also known as the ISC, was formed in Meriden, Connecticut. International Silver banded together a number of existing silver companies in the Connecticut area and beyond.
