A wonderful children's hardcover book called Princess Gorilla and a New Kind of Water by Verna Aardema. Illustrated by the Victoria Chess.

King Gorilla is intent on selecting a strong, brave husband for his daughter. Whoever can drink a barrel of vinegar, he declares, shall be the one. Elephant saunters up confidently and takes a generous trunkful of the bitter stuff. In the end, the princess marries the handsome gorilla she's had her eye on all along but not until she's had the fun of seeing a host of animals apply themselves to the task, with increasingly comical results.

Verna Norberg Aardema Vugteveen (1911 – 2000), best known by the name Verna Aardema, was an American writer of children's books.

This book is in Fine condition. Binding is tight and the pages are clean with no markings. The covers are unmarked with no rubbing or shelf wear. The dust cover is in very good condition with no ripping. It does have bending on the bottom (front and back).

As New: The book is in the same immaculate condition as when it was published. This could be the description for a book that has been lost in a warehouse for years, never shelved, thumbed or even opened yet may still be some years old.

Fine: A Fine book approaches the condition of As New, but without being crisp. The book may have been opened and read, but there are no defects to the book, jacket or pages.
