Oneida Community Tudor Plate is a trademark that guarantees that the principal forks and spoons are reinforced on the back at the greatest areas of wear with an extra layer of solid silver. Oneida Community started production of silver-plated flatware and hollowware in 1899 using the "Community Plate" mark.
Oneida was a silverware company that produced silver-plated and stainless-steel flatware and hollow ware for over 100 years. The company was founded in 1848 in Oneida, New York as part of the Oneida Community, a utopian society. The Oneida Community began producing silverware in 1899 using the "Community Plate" mark. In 1929, the Oneida Community merged with the Wm A. Rogers company. Oneida revolutionized the industry in the 1960s when it first introduced stainless-steel flatware.
