A gorgeous set of two luncheon plates by Taylor Smith and Taylor (TS&T). These plates are embossed on the edge with a center floral design. The plates have 22 carat gold trim on the rim and edge. These wonderful plates would look marvelous on a table, sideboard, or buffet.
In 1899, Joseph G. Lee, Charles A. Smith, John N. Taylor, William L. Taylor, and Homer J. Taylor joined forces to establish the Taylor, Lee & Smith Company. In 1901, Joseph Lee withdrew from the partnership, leading to the renaming of the company as Taylor, Smith & Taylor Pottery Company. Taylor, Smith & Taylor crafted a diverse range of semi-porcelain wares, including dinnerware, hotel and restaurant ware, and toilet sets. The company also undertook special commission work, creating items like Gigi and Holly Hobby plates for the American Greeting Corporation.

One plate is in excellent condition. It has no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is rubbing to the gold trim from age and use. The other plate is in good condition with 3 small chips on the underside along the rim. It has no cracks or crazing and there is rubbing to the gold trim due to age and use. These plates are approximately 90 years old. Our price reflects the imperfections on the second plate.
