A beautiful sugar bowl and creamer set by PALT Czechoslovakia. The pattern consists of purple lusterware flowers and bands around the bowl, lid, and creamer. Lusterware has a metallic glaze, which imparts an enchanting iridescence to the surface. This set has heavy gold gilt on the handles. This is an antique set dating from the early 1920s. What a wonderful statement this set will make on your table, buffet, or sideboard.
P.A.L.T. stands for Porcelain Amphora, Riessner, Stellmacher, and Kessel. It refers to a group of ceramic manufacturers based in Bohemia, which became part of the newly created country of Czechoslovakia after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of World War I in 1918.
