René Verdon (1924 – 2011) was a French-born American chef and author. Verdon was the chef for the White House during the administrations of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. Verdon was hired by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1961.

This book is in very good condition. The binding is tight. The book has no markings on the inside except for the inscription on the title page. The pages are all clean without any staining. The white covers show light staining. The dust cover is in fair condition which consists for tearing along the spine and chipping around the edges.
This would make a great gift idea for the person who loves history and loves to cook.

As New: The book is in the same immaculate condition as when it was published. This could be the description for a book that has been lost in a warehouse for years, never shelved, thumbed or even opened yet may still be some years old.
Fine: A Fine book approaches the condition of As New, but without being crisp. The book may have been opened and read, but there are no defects in the book, jacket or pages.
Very Good: Describes a book that shows some small signs of wear - but no tears - on either binding or paper. Any defects should be noted by the seller.
Good: Describes the average used book that has all pages or leaves present. Any defects should be noted by the seller.
