In the winter of 1889 Oberlausitzer Glaswerke J. Schweig and Co. begin its operations. The glass blowing hut was situated in the same spot where Stölzle Lausitz produces glasses to this day. The company previously produced technical products like glass tubes and light bulbs. To increase their growth, the owners decided in 1908 to manufacture drinking glasses. After several corporation names, the company was called Vereinigte Lausitzer Glaswerke AG. Up to the first World War, the Lausitzer Glaswerke were the biggest stemware producers in Germany, and continued that status until the German reunification in 1991, they employed up to 4,000 people. In 1992, After the German reunification, the Lausitzer Glaswerke was privatized. Stölzle Oberglas AG in 1996 took over the glassworks and gave it its new name.

This set is in excellent condition. The sugar bowl has two very tiny flea bites on its rim, very hard to see. It has no other flaws. The creamer and underplate have no chips or cracks. This is a really beautiful set.
Would make a great holiday or special occasion gift. A great set to add to your collection.
