A beautiful four cup teapot by PALT Czechoslovakia. The pattern consists of purple lusterware flowers and bands. Lusterware has a metallic glaze, which imparts an enchanting iridescence to the surface. This has heavy gold gilt on the handle and trim. It is an antique dating from the early 1920s. What a wonderful statement this set will make on your table, buffet, or sideboard. Perfect for your next tea party and a great gift for any tea connoisseur.
P.A.L.T. stands for Porcelain Amphora, Riessner, Stellmacher, and Kessel. It refers to a group of ceramic manufacturers based in Bohemia, which became part of the newly created country of Czechoslovakia after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of World War I in 1918.
