Info: Thornhill Glass and American Brilliant Glass: Thornhill Glass, although not as widely known as some of its contemporaries, produced some of the finest examples of cut glass during the American Brilliant Period. The American Brilliant movement marked the emergence of U.S. glassmakers on the world stage, as they perfected the art of deep cutting on leaded crystal, producing stunning pieces like this sugar and creamer set. Each piece was handcrafted, and the intricate floral designs were meticulously carved into the glass using a series of wheels. The addition of uranium to some pieces, as seen here, gives the glass its remarkable lime-green glow under UV light, making it both a stunning display piece and a conversation starter.
