Folded Edge Bread Tray, Relish Tray, Moriage Style, Floral, 12 Inch
This is a lovely bread tray in a pink floral pattern with green vines. It is trimmed with gold and maker is unknown. It would look fantastic on a table, sideboard, or buffet. Great for serving bread, pickles, candy or used as a trinket dish.
Specifically, moriage describes a time-consuming technique of applying layers of enamel on top of each other to build up a three-dimensional effect. The term is more commonly used to describe the application of a string line relief design to ceramics.
