This is a lovely gravy boat with underplate by Syracuse China. The pattern consists of a peach-colored calla lily on a tan background. This is restaurant grade so it is heavy and sturdy. It is a wonderful set for your sideboard, buffet, or dinner table.
The boat and underplate have two different backstamps being made during a backstamp change. The patterns do match perfectly.
Syracuse China was located in Syracuse, New York. It was founded in 1871 as Onondaga Pottery Company in the town of Geddes, New York. In the late 19th century, Onondaga Pottery began producing fine china, for which it found a strong market, particularly in hotels, restaurants, and railroad dining cars. The manufacturing facility in Syracuse closed in 2009, after 138 years in operation.

This gravy boat set is in great condition. The gravy boat by itself is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The underplate is in great condition due to chips on the bottom (please see photos). It has no cracks or crazing. This set is restaurant ware, so it is made to take the abuse of a very busy restaurant or diner.
This would make a great gift for a holiday or special occasion. A great piece to add to your collection.
