Syracuse China Plate, Restaurant Grade, SY185
A lovely Syracuse China plate in the SY185 pattern. The pattern consists of a brown and green leaves around the rim of the plate. It also has scallops along the edges. This is a restaurant grade plate so it is very heavy. What a lovely addition to any plate collection. It would look wonderful on a sideboard, buffet, or dinner table. A great serving plate.
Syracuse China was located in Syracuse, New York. It was founded in 1871 as Onondaga Pottery Company in the town of Geddes, New York. In the late 19th century, Onondaga Pottery began producing fine china, for which it found a strong market particularly in hotels, restaurants, and railroad dining cars. The manufacturing facility in Syracuse closed in 2009, after 138 years of operation.
