A gorgeous Hex Footed Candy Dish by Hofbauer. This is part of their The Byrdes Collection--The Ruby. The pressed crystal pattern has stars, ribs, and also the signature bird on both sides of the bowl surrounded by red. The edges where the lid and the bowl meet are sawtooth. There are three feet and each one is a bird. The finale on the lid is also a bird. It is hexagon in shape and has its original sticker. The glass is 24% leaded crystal and is very beautiful and is highly collectible. Finding this bowl with its lid is a rare event. This would be a beautiful centerpiece, addition to a collection, or a gift. Magnificent as a display piece in a china or curio cabinet.
Hofbauer Crystal produced collectible lead crystal to about 1990. Though the company is no longer in existence their leaded crystal pieces are popular collectibles. Their Byrde Collection is noted for its traditional bird design cut into the glass.
