A gorgeous set of 2 lusterware demitasse lusterware iridescent, opalescent teacups and saucers. These were made in Germany. They are white with a blue edge and are gold encrusted. The iridescence gives this set a beautiful rainbow effect. This set would be perfect for an afternoon tea. A great way to serve afternoon coffee or espresso on the veranda.
A demitasse is a small cup used to serve Turkish coffee or espresso. Demitasse is the French word for half cup.
Iridescent definition: Displaying a play of lustrous colors like those of the rainbow.

This set is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is wear to the gold on the handles and rims. Also, the gold flowers show wear. This is normal for old china.
