A lovely antique EAPG (Early American Pressed Glass) nappy (bowl with handle) by Imperial Glass. The pattern is a called Hobstar and it consists of hobstars surrounded by a ribbon design. A nappy is a shallow serving dish with a flat bottom and sloping sides. This term is commonly used to identify small bowls when referring to depression glass and antique china. As a serving dish, this would be ideal for nuts, candy, salsas, sauces, relishes and such.
The Imperial Glass Company was founded in 1901 by Edward Muhleman. Their handmade glassware sold worldwide and was usually made of pressed glass patterns. The Imperial Glass Company was located in Bellaire, Ohio and closed in 1984.
