A beautiful platter by Homer Laughlin. The pattern features pink and yellow rose sprays. The shape of this set is called Hudson. This lovely platter would make a grand statement on a table, buffet, or sideboard.
In the early days of Homer Laughlin, attempts were made for HLC wares to gain the same acceptance as British imports. However, by the early 1900s, focus changed from competing with British wares to French. Older lines were replaced by ornate copies of French Haviland lines. It was during this time that Homer Laughlin adopted the stylized fleur-de-lis logo of the letters H-L-C which is still used today. One of the first Haviland look-alike lines offered by HLC was Hudson in 1908. This shape was an instant hit and was produced until the late 1920s.

This platter is in very good condition for its age. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is rubbing to the gold trim and also utensil marks. This is to be expected for fine china of this age. This platter is over 100 years old.
