Antique American Brilliant Plate, Meriden Cut Glass, Mt Washington Glass, Leaded Crystal, Cut Glass, 7 Inch, Collectible
A gorgeous American Brilliant leaded crystal plate. The plate is in a pattern patented by Thomas Singleton on Jan. 31, 1893 for the Mt Washington Glass Company which operated 1837 - 1894. This glass pattern was also produced by the Meriden Cut Glass Co. which was made up of several smaller glass companies including Mt. Washington Glass. The Meriden Glass Company operated between the years 1895 - 1923 in Meriden, Connecticut. The pattern is hobstars and long straight cuts with a sawtooth edge. This crystal plate catches the light beautifully and acts as a prism making a rainbow of colors. This is a great piece for the collector or a wonderful gift idea. It would look beautiful on a table, buffet, or sideboard.
Size:
7 inches in diameter
The plate is in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks on the plate or sawtooth edge. This bowl is in amazing condition considering it is approximately 120 years old.
This plate is very heavy. The cutting is very sharp. One of the many ways to tell original American Brilliant cut glass is to check it under a black light. If it is real it will fluoresce a lime green color. This item has been checked and does.
This would make a great housewarming, hostess, wedding, shower, or holiday gift. A great piece to add to your collection.
